The new assist and slipper clutch is light to grip, engine braking is gentle, and well received. However, "the touch is too sweet and too weak when used hard.and consulted with them on how to handle the situation. [effect] ・Smooth disengagement of the clutch. ・Reinforced without washers.The connection can be cut firmly without slipping. ・With washers, even with conventional weights, the feel of operation is better than stock. ・It will be easier to do up front! ・Judder reduction. ・Improved durability of the disc.
When installed, it works more like a machine designed to work. The spring made it difficult to vibrate.
■Mounting Method 1. Drain the coolant and oil, disconnect the coolant hose, oil pipe and clutch wire from the clutch cover, and remove the cover. 2. Remove the three bolts, setting plate, spring, of the clutch. 3. Insert the spring with the retainer installed, apply the setting plate, and tighten the "three supplied bolts.The attached bolts are stepped to prevent rattling. 4. If you do not want to make the current clutch lever grip any heavier (for women or those with weak fingers), insert the three "supplied bolts" into the setting plate, then insert the retainer and supplied washers, and tighten them against the spring. 5. If you do not put in the washer, it will be reinforced and a little heavier.When filled, it weighs basically the same as the stock. 6. Check that the retainer fits into the spring, and then gradually tighten the three retainers, tightening them at 12 Nm or less (10 N is sufficient). 7. After installation, only the difference in the bolts can be seen from the top.I went to the trouble of anodizing it red. 8. Then, if the gasket is cut or torn (Honda is more likely to damage it), remove it with a scraper or similar tool, apply a grinding stone, insert a new gasket, and assemble in the reverse order.
■About clutch discs The newer, the better the connection.The manual shows the limit of use of the thickness, but it is not helpful. In the case of a cork type friction disc, if the surface is shiny and crispy when you put your fingernail on the corner, it is carbonized.Doesn't connect like a new one. As a rule of thumb, the cork type has reached the end of its life when the grains of the cork become so black that they cannot be distinguished. But if you struggle in the mountain or practice wheelie, even a brand-new bicycle may be worn out in a day.
■Retainers are effective in improving clutch touch and disengagement, but "I want to reduce drag more.To avoid more heat loss.Clutch plate grooving and chamfering is effective for the "clutch plate grooving and chamfering".
