■Completely changes cornering
The S20 EVO, which is favored by many riders, has undergone further evolution.
This tire is more comfortable to handle due to its excellent lightness, and the ground contact feeling when cornering is superior to that of the S20 EVO.
The rear tire was developed using Bridgestone's proprietary ULTIMAT EYE™ technology, and a special compound was used to increase traction and improve wear life.
A true premium sports radial that further brings out the performance of the machine and the joy of riding.
Recommended for the following customers:
Customers who enjoy sport riding
Customers who want both wet performance and long life for supersport bikes
Customers who want to start riding on the track
[Three-layer compound / Triple split tread]
Triple Split Tread Technology.
Tread shoulder compound improves cornering grip.
Tread center compound provides linear handling characteristics.
*The name has been changed from the conventional "SPORT SACT Structure"
[HTSPC/High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord]
High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord
Steel cord comprised of inner filaments individually insulated with rubber and braided in an independent manner.
The high thermal conductivity of the filaments provides high heat dissipation and resistance to blowout, and the absence of moisture retention between the filaments prevents oxidation, resulting in high-speed stability and durability of the entire structure.
In addition, these filaments strongly suppress cord deformation while flexibly expanding and contracting, thus achieving both high case rigidity (grip) and shock absorption at a high level.
[MS BELT / Mono Spiral Belt]
Lightweight, durable cords are wrapped parallel to the direction of tire rotation to create a smooth grip feeling.
The advantages of, 1. Weight reduction, 2. Improved grip, 3. Rotational stability, 4. Improved high-speed performance, and 5. Excellent damping effect contribute greatly to high dynamic performance.
[SILICA RICH]
It provides reliable grip even at low temperatures in the early stages of riding, and also offers excellent wet performance.
[SILICA RICH EX]
Compared to the conventional SILICA RICH, the silica content is significantly increased to improve wet performance in particular.
[RC POLYMER for motorcycle tires]
Polymers, which enhance wear resistance, and silica, which enhances wet performance, are usually not compatible. To maximize the performance of these two raw materials, it is necessary to dramatically increase their affinity.
By adopting RC polymer (for motorcycle tires) developed using our core technology NanoPro-Tech®*, it contributes to improving wear life while enhancing wet performance.
*NanoPro-Tech® is a general term for the technology to control the microstructure of materials through molecular design in order to bring out the required properties.
[ULTIMAT EYE™]
Bridgestone’s proprietary tire development technology for measuring and visualizing tire contact surface behavior during actual riding conditions.
Previously, tire development consisted of running simulations, building prototypes and using laboratory measurements as well as actual vehicle tests to verify performance.
ULTIMAT EYE™ reproduces high-speed riding conditions in the laboratory that are equivalent to those of an actual vehicle, enabling tire contact surface behavior to be visualized.
This allows for highly accurate analysis and performance verification based on scientific evidence, in addition to conventional vehicle testing.
Using technology born to develop tires for the world’s most demanding car and motorcycle races, the measurement and analysis equipment can handle speeds of up to 400km/h and lean angles of up to 60 degrees.
■New shape of front tire
By reducing the diameter of the crown shape of the front tire, the contact surface between the tire and the road surface when the bike is tilted during cornering is lengthened in the linear direction, which increases the force of turning (camber thrust), contributing to the improvement of lighter cornering performance.
■Uses special compound
The compound design was reviewed from the molecular level, and a compound was developed that improves the contact between the tire and the road surface at the micro level.
This compound is applied to the shoulders of both the front and rear tires, which is important during cornering, to improve cornering grip performance.
■Rear tire design
By utilizing ULTIMAT EYE™ in the structural design of the rear tire, the behavior of the tire sliding on the road surface can be understood in detail, which has not been possible with conventional analysis technology, and the sliding area has been reduced significantly.
This reduces wear and improves the wear life by about 30%.
■Creative Pattern Design
(1) Three-dimensionally shaped groove ends increase tread rigidity and improve cornering grip
(2) Grooves that cross the center line optimize tread rigidity in the center section, improving ground contact with the road surface for improved lightness and agility
(3) Ribbed blocks in the center of the rear tire to prevent slippage and improve wear life (ULTIMAT EYE™)
(4) Slick groove arrangement on the shoulders provides a large ground contact area for improved cornering grip
